It all began in Hawthorne California, at Hawthorne High School while most of the Beach Boys were Hawthorne High School Cougars. Brian and Al played on the football team together. Dennis and Carl were Brian's little brothers that sang with big brother Brian since they were very small. Cousin Mike Love went to nearby Dorsey High. What began as a weekend while the folks were away, changed the world of musical history forever. As the "British Invasion" hit the shores of the USA in 1964, the "Surf Sound" had been defined by the likes of Dick Dale, The Ventures and many others with whom performed songs without lyrics. Receiving some criticism from the surfing community for having lyrics, The Beach Boys began to reshape the sound and developed a whole new genre dubbed "Surf Pop". |

Their songs talked of fast cars, the girl next door, having fun and the forever search for the "perfect wave. This catapulted Brian, Mike, Carl, Dennis and Al into international stardom. Their music is recognized throughout the world. Much like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, they have millions of devoted fans and new listeners of all ages that are discovering their music every day!!! The concept of The Beach Toys was to recreate and authenticate the look and sound of a live concert, circa 1964-65, by Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson and Al Jardine. That was the spark that ignited the flame. The Beach Toys have recreated the sight, sound and mannerisms of this most recognizable band. From the striped shirts and Sansabelt slacks,to the suede "Beatle Boots" and wavy hair, right down to the definitive harmonies and groundbreaking lyrics about girls, surf and life in California. A tribute show defined is one that completely and accurately recreates the sights, vocal, instrumental sounds, exact costumes, equipment, look, height, mannerisms as well as the music of the original artists for which they portray. Many generic surf bands are misconceived or claim to be an actual Beach Boys tribute bands when in fact they do not remain 100% true to Beach Boys music nor do they dedicate themselves to the look, costumes, and the "classic sound" of The 1960's Beach Boys.
